Pharmacodynamic Evaluation of Syzygium Cumini Extract in Experimental Diabetic Models
The experimental analysis of Syzygium cumini extract pharmacodynamic properties examines blood glucose control mechanisms and antioxidant effects and tests security parameters. For 28 days Wistar rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes received Syzygium cumini extract treatment at both 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg doses. Blood glucose levels decreased substantially during the study period while the high-dose treatment group achieved near-normal glucose concentrations by its conclusion. The antioxidant function of the extract occurred due to elevated reduced glutathione (GSH) together with higher superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase levels and decreased malondialdehyde (MDA). Tests of lipid profile showed higher HDL values and lower levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides and LDL which could protect the heart. The test of liver enzymes validated a good safety profile for the extract because it yielded negative hepatotoxicity results. Test outcomes demonstrate that Syzygium cumini extract may function as an additional treatment to manage diabetes together with its connected complications and protect the cardiovascular system.
Evaluation of Sustained Release MatrixTablets Using Natural Polymers
The study evaluates sustained-release matrix tablets created from natural polymers alginate and guar gum and xanthan gum and chitosan when using model drugs diclofenac sodium and theophylline. The research determines the drug release patterns together with tablet physical measurements (hardness, friability, moisture content) and formulation comparability between sustained-release pharmaceuticals and conventional deliverysystems. The research used various matrix tablets made from natural polymers for which in vitro drug releases were conducted with a dissolution testing apparatus. Drug release from alginate and xanthan gum matrices occurred through gradual kinetics leading to sustained drug outcome with zero-order patterns. The drug release from tablets containing guar gum and chitosan followed inconsistent behavior. Xanthan gum matrices demonstrated the highest level of hardness and lowest degree of friability among all physical characteristic measurements. All stability tests demonstrated formulation stability since the drug release profiles remained unmodified. Bioavailability tests demonstrated the sustainedrelease dosages released the drug into the body at a steadier and more delayed pace than standard pill tablets. The statistical evaluations confirmed that distinct dissimilarities appeared between different formulations regarding the release rate of drugs along with hardness characteristics and bioavailability parameters and the degree to which the formulations broke apart. The release profiles of sustained-release matrix tablets enhance when designed with natural polymers alginate and xanthan gum.
Effect of Heavy Metals on Germination andGrowth of Trigonella Foenum-Graecum
Heavy metals like lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and chromium (Cr) are common environmental pollutants that constitute a major hazard to soil and plant health. The metals are known to inhibit plant growth and development, and they have implications for agriculture and food security. The present research seeks to explore the effect of these heavy metals on the germination and seedling growth of Trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek), a widely grown crop of both agricultural and medicinal value. The experiment, carried out under controlled laboratory conditions, subjected fenugreek seeds to different concentrations (0, 25, 50, 100, and 200 ppm) of each metal. The findings showed drastic reduction in seed germination percent, shoot and root growths, and vigor of the seedlings as concentration of heavy metal increased, but lead exhibited worst effects. Results highlight adverse influence of heavy metal pollution on the growth of plant, thereby bringing into perspective requirements for remediation measures against the environmental pollution for its detestable effect on agricultural produce.
